About 1,200 new Family Capital accounts are opened in Belarus every month, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko said at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic on 24 June, BelTA has learned.
"The number of large families is growing. On 1 January 2020 there were 104,000 of them. Today their number stands at 119,000. About Br380 million was earmarked for the program in 2022," Igor Petrishenko said.
The deputy prime minister recalled that taking into account the needs of large families, this year the possibilities of early use of these funds for the designated purposes (housing, healthcare and education) have been expanded with the possibility to buy goods for social rehabilitation and social integration of disabled children.
"This year alone, more than 6,000 applications on the early use of family capital have been approved. Of these, 86% will be used to improve housing conditions, 6% - for education and 8% - medical services," Igor Petrishenko added.
